Senior iPhone Developer

The main responsibility of the Senior iPhone Software Engineer is to work with the Software Engineering team to implement and maintain iPhone apps.  They will be involved with the full development cycle of the products including definition, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support of new and existing features.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Accurate estimation of schedules and manpower for assigned tasks, and completion of tasks as estimated.
  • Completing assigned tasks in a professional manner, including:
  • Assure that requirements are complete and resolving discrepancies with marketing
  • Contribute to any analysis, and perform high level and detailed design before coding
  • Implement designs while following company standard coding practices
  • Work in collaboration with other developers and sometimes act as lead on larger projects.
  • Follow company procedures regarding source code control
  • Test work products, developing tests if needed, before releasing to QA
  • Act as the responsible engineer for small projects
  • Mentor other software developers in iPhone SDK specifics
  • Contribute to the development of departmental processes
  • Assist customer service in resolving customer issues Stay current in the area of software engineering, specifically those pertaining to iPhone.

Requirements

  • Self-motivation and discipline are necessities, as is the ability to work as a team member with other in-house and external developers
  • Expert C++ knowledge and experience, minimum of 5 years
  • Expert Objective-C knowledge and experience, minimum of 5 years
  • Cocoa development experience, minimum of 2 full years
  • At least 1 year of iPhone development experience with at least 1 significant application in the Apple iPhone App Store
  • Strong knowledge of and experience using object-oriented design techniques
  • Good Computer Science fundamentals including data structures, algorithm design, concurrency issues, and performance assessment.
  • Experience with issues of performance, memory usage, software quality, and other platform requirements on resource-constrained mobile devices.
  • Development experience in more than one operating system and its development tools
  • Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills
  • Experience debugging code in device and emulation environments
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Embedded Software Engineer

Griffin Technology is adding an embedded software engineer to our team. You'll be part of a team focused on the development of iPod and iPhone accessories. Your responsibilities will include firmware design and development, participation in code reviews, bootstrapping embedded hardware projects, and verifying proper functioning of hardware and firmware. Griffin Technology provides excellent benefits and a competitive salary.

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in embedded software development in C
  • Embedded experience, experience with limited-memory targets (8-bit and 32-bit)
  • Understanding of general processor architecture and functionality
  • C, without expectation of niceties like malloc
  • Basic ability to read electrical schematics (signal connections, etc.)
  • Experience with JTAG debugging

Desired Skills

  • NXP and ARM microcontroller experience a plus
  • IAR development tool experience a plus
  • Microchip microcontroller and code red w/Eclipse experience a plus
  • Experience interfacing with iPod and iPhone a plus
  • Experience interfacing with LCD displays a plus
  • RF experience a plus
Technical Support

The Support Technician will provide end users support and technical issue resolution via email and phone, and contribute to the best customer service and technical support team in the industry. Griffin Support strives to provide friendly service, gives users good advice on product features, and tracks and reports issues as they happen. You will report directly to the Technical Support and Customer Service Manager.

Skills Required:

  • A sincere love for gadgets, consumer electronics, and assisting end users in a patient and professional manner.
  • Excellent reading comprehension, grammar, and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of Macs, including knowledge of various operating systems and standard applications.
  • Knowledge of PCs, including XP and Vista.
  • Typing proficiency: 40-60 wpm.
  • Self motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
  • Fluency in other languages is a plus.
