How do I back up a track?

To back up a track when using your SmartDeck, first set the SmartDeck into "Skip Mode" by sliding the Mode switch on the SmartDeck towards Skip.

The next part needs to be completed very quickly.

Now that the SmartDeck is in "Skip Mode", you will be able to skip tracks by using the RW (Rewind or Previous Track) controls on your cassette player. Generally, once you hear the cassette player wind the SmartDeck, your iPod has recieved the Back command. Your iPod should now be at zero on the current track, at this point you need to press the Play or RW. This will begin playing that track again. Almost immediately you need to press the RW button again on your cassette player, to skip back to the previous track.

Note: These instructions are intended to work with the average cassette player. Not all cassette players are designed the same way, so you may find that your cassette player works differently than described here.
