How do I use my iPod with the iFire and my Apple Pro Speakers?

If you want to use the iFire with only the iPod, these instructions will help you set it up:

• Attach the FireWire cable from the FireWire port on the iFire to the FireWire port on the iPod charger (not the iPod).
• Connect the 1/8" stereo cable from the audio input port on the iFire to the headphone port on the iPod.
• Now plug your Apple Pro Speakers into the iFire and you are ready to listen to your music. Be sure to adjust the volume of the iPod to about 80%.

Additional Tips: The 3rd Generation iPods include a Dock with a line level audio output. You can use this port to provide audio for the iFire however you will not be able to control the output volume of the iPod to the speakers. We recommend using the headphone output on the iPod because this will allow you to control the volume of the music that is being played.

You can adjust the settings within the iPod for different EQ settings. Try out different settings to see how you like the sound quality. "Dance" sounds good through speakers for many folks.
