Are there any other special notes regarding my device?
PowerBook G3 Issues
One Lombard PowerBooks ADB keyboards function normally except that waking the PowerBook up is done with the Power Key. This is different than built in ADB where any keystroke could wake up the Mac. This is because during sleep on a Lombard PowerBook G3, power is removed from the USB bus during sleep and consequently the ADB bus as well. So the only form of communication possible at that point is the signaling used for soft power on.
G4 Sleep Issues
On the the Power Mac G3's and early G4's, sleep works as expected and awakening from sleep with a keystroke or mouse movement works as expected.
On the later G4 models (Sawtooth, AGP models), wakeup from sleep only works with the newer 'Graphite' colored iMates. The workaround for older iMates is to use the Energy Saver Control panel and disable sleep (Never) and then click on Show Details. Check Separate timing for display sleep and Separate timing for hard disk sleep and set them to your preference. This will provide the benefits of sleep and allow a keyboard or mouse connected through the iMate to wake the computer.
Apple Ergonomic Keyboard
The Apple Ergonomic keyboard works well with iMacs. With the iMate driver installed it provides the AV controls for sound control and muting. On the PowerBook G3's with the iMate driver installed you may need to disable the Video Startup extension with the Extensions Manager and disable sleep. Alternatively you can use the keyboard without the iMate driver and it will function normally except for the AV controls.
AppleVision, ColorSync, Studio Displays
Most of the AppleVision, ColorSync, and Studio Displays have the ability to control geometry and calibration through software (Monitors and Sound control panel). This works the same as it normally would with the iMate on USB based Macs. With the iMate connected and the iMate driver installed all audio and monitor controls like sound, microphone, brightness and contrast, geometry, and calibration work as expected.
On the G4 and PowerBook G3 models it is important that the original Apple video adapter that came with the computer be used. The reason is that the Applevision software discovers which display is connected to which video source through one of the video pins for multiple display setups. Some older Apple adapters are not wired correctly and do not work.

So the AppleVision software will not correctly load and configure with some adapters. This includes the older Griffin Mac Connect adapter. Our older adapter can be used with these displays but not in conjunction with iMate to control the display's geometry and calibration. The current Mac Connect revision 1062-B (Rev B) does work in conjunction with the iMate.
MacAlly Point Device
The MacAlly Point Device software requires version 2.5 or later of the iMate driver to allow custom programability of the buttons.
Alphasmart Keyboard
Earlier versions (1.x) of iMate driver need to be optimized for use with the Get Application and Turbo Transfer utility for Alphasmart keyboards. Using the iMate Fiddler application. Set the ADB Polling speed for 13ms, the ADBOp delay for 15ms and check address 7 in the Autopoll. Version 2.5 or later works well without any modifications although you can lower the Listen Delay (8-10) in the iMate control panel to speed transfers with the Get application.
QuickPad / NuForm / Percon Scanner
The iMate driver must be installed for the H45 QuickPad, and Percon Bar Code Scanner to operate properly. The Adesso Nu-form or Tru-Form keyboards work best with version 2.4 or later of the iMate driver.
Calcomp Drawing Slate II
The Calcomp Drawing Slate II works as expected with the iMate driver version 1.6 or greater. However with a PowerBook G3 (Lombard), it is imperative that sleep be disabled. Awakening from sleep mode with the iMate/Drawing Slate II driver combination will normally cause a System crash.
Xrite Colortron II
We have not tested the Colortron II calibrator but it reportedly works with the ADB Polling Speed set to 36 ms and the ADB Op Delay (Listen Delay) set to 38 ms.
Supermatch Display Calibrator Pro
The Supermatch Display Calibrator Pro is compatible with the version 1.6 and higher of the iMate Driver. However to use the calibrator with the older 'Bondi blue' iMate, it may be neccessary to have other devices such as a keyboard or mouse connected. Newer versions of the iMate (Graphite color) should work fine with the calibrator.
Rebound, MacCoach, and Zerberus
The Rebound, MacCoach, and Zerberus all work with the iMate but may not produce as robust a result with the combination as they do with built in ADB. The reason is these devices send a keyboard combination (Command-Control-Power) to the Mac. This combination is interpreted directly by the ADB controller instead of in software.
When the key combination is recognized by the ADB controller, it sends a reset signal directly to the power supply, completely bypassing the OS. So even when a machine is locked up it can be reset. With USB, the key combination is interpreted in software by the USB driver. So in some cases where a machine is badly crashed, the reset command may not work.
Logitech Trackman Marble
The Logitech Trackman Marble and Cordless Mouseman mouse may require our Mousekey patch for the Mousekey 2.0 software to work correctly with some systems and hardware configurations. The patch has not been extensively tested but appears to allow the Mousekey software to work correctly on newer OS releases. Also you should use version 2.01 of the iMate driver. Later version are currently incompatible.
Lacie Blue Eye
The Lacie Blue Eye monitor calibrator appears to work best with version 1.6.x of the iMate driver. Apparently it will sometimes fail with the current driver version. Until this is resolved, we recommend using this version of the driver.
MacDCF77
MacDCF77 requires a special enabler and the latest beta of the iMate driver to function correctly with older iMate adapters. The current 'graphite' version should work with the regular iMate driver.
Kernel Joyport (Choicestick)
The Kernel Joyport or Choicestick are compatible with the iMate. You should use a 2.x version of the iMate driver. Also you need to open the Choicestick control panel and select "Prefs...". Then uncheck "Switch Keyboard".
Big Island YoYo
The Big Island YoYo is compatible when running Mac OS 8.1, 8.5, and 8.6. However it does not appear to be compatible with OS 9.0. This appears to be a YoYo software issue as the YoYo is also incompatible with B&W G3's with the built in ADB port running OS 9. Hopefully the YOYO software will be updated for OS 9.0 support in the future.
Edmark TouchWindow
The Edmark TouchWindow is compatible with the iMate but runs much better with the recent TouchWindow driver. The newer TouchWindow driver fixes a problem with clicks sometimes causing long delays.
