My iTalk isn't working. It doesn't go directly to Record mode.
Make sure you have installed the latest iPod software update from Apple. If you have a 3rd Generation iPod (iPod with dock connector), you must have iPod software version 2.1 or later installed on your iPod for the iTalk to work. If you are unsure which version you have installed, you can check this by navigating to the Settings > About menu directly on the iPod.
Disconnect your iTalk for one minute, then reconnect. When the red LED blinks, your iTalk is working and will go directly to Record mode.
If this doesn't work or there seems to be a problem with your iPod, you may want to reset it with the iTalk attached. To reset the iPod, press and hold the Menu and Select buttons (Menu and Play on the older iPods) until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Then release the buttons and wait for the iPod to return to the Main menu.
