I just opened my AirClick and connected it to my iPod but the remote doesn't work.

To prolong battery life, all AirClick remotes are shipped with the hold engaged. The hold button disables any buttons on the remote from being used. Along the right-hand side of the REMOTE, find the hold switch, and toggle it to so that no color can be seen beneath it. It works like the hold switch on the iPod; Orange = HOLD.
