How can I find out the MAC address? (WiFi model)

If you need to know the MAC address of your TuneCenter Pro, you just need to do a little legwork to find it. After powering on your TuneCenter, press the Settings button on the remote. Arrow down to "Network Settings" and write down the IP address. We'll use an IP address of "192.168.1.100" as an example in the instructions below. Type exactly what you see here.

PC users (XP):

  • From the Start menu, go to All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
  • At the cursor, type "ping 192.168.1.100" and hit Enter. Enter your IP address, not the example.
  • Various "replies" will appear. If they do not stop appearing, press "Ctrl + C."
  • At the next blinking cursor, type "arp -a 192.168.1.100" and hit Enter. Notice there is a space after "arp" and before your IP address.
  • Under the heading "Physical Address," you will now see the MAC address. It will be listed as 6 groups of paired numbers/letters, and may look something like "00-0a-95-37-9b-2f."

Mac users:

  • Go to Applications > Utilities > Terminal.
  • At the cursor, type "ping 192.168.1.100" and hit Return. Enter your IP address, not the example.
  • Various "replies" will appear. If they do not stop appearing, press "Ctrl + C."
  • At the cursor, type "arp 192.168.1.100" and hit Return.
  • You will now see the line that says "(192.168.1.100) at 0:a:95:37:9b:2f," or a similar grouping of numbers. This is the MAC address. Because it is actually a hexidecimal number, you would write the above example as "00-0a-95-37-9b-2f."
  • Jot down your MAC address and close the Terminal.
