How do I choose between stereo and mono modes?

Hold down both arrow buttons at the same time for about 3-5 seconds to enter the iTrip's preferences. Let go, then press one of the arrow buttons to choose between stereo and mono. The iPod will revert back to the normal screen within a few seconds.
