Is there a difference in quality when using Mono and Stereo modes?
When you are in Stereo mode, the sound will be more true to the original mix. When in Mono mode, you will lose the stereo mix, but you will get a stronger signal. The change in mix is not largely noticeable.
Stereo mode is recommended for use with most music recordings. Mono mode is better for classical music, podcasts, and audio books.
