My iTripLCD flashes, but doesn't turn on!

The iTripLCD is designed to turn on once you start playing a song on the iPod. If this is not occurring, there are a couple of things to try to get the two devices working properly. First, try these steps:

  • Plug the iTripLCD into the iPod. You'll want to remove any case/sleeve on the iPod, to ensure that the iTrip is getting a nice, snug connection.
  • Go to a playlist and play a song.
  • Turn the iPod's wheel until the volume is at 100%. The iTripLCD should light up at this point, enabling you to change the tuning (if needed.) If the screen does not turn on, then try a soft reset of the iPod, with the iTripLCD attached.
  • With the iTrip plugged into the iPod and the iPod turned on, hold down the Menu and Select buttons until an apple appears in the screen. Then you can let go and wait for the iPod to restart. After it restarts, try playing a song and see if the iTrip works.
