Careers at Griffin

Logistics

Responsible for the development, measurement, and reporting of key analyses in support of global supply chain activities. Position also project manages key operational programs in support of global logistical strategies.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Development, measurement, and reporting of key metrics for global airfreight and ocean capacity management.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews with extended cross-functional teams.
  • Develop analytical reviews for new product launches and other projects as needed.
  • Project management of key logistical projects.
  • Represent Worldwide Logistics at operational meetings.
  • Report and present analytical findings to executive management.
  • Assist with back-dock operational activities as needed.
  • Work closely with OEMs as needed.

Additional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • High visibility and interaction with business management on major projects as well as tactical and strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership in assisting senior management in working with the business to develop and execute supply chain solutions strategy and roadmap.
  • Responsible to maintain effective and proactive relationships with matrixed team members.
  • Ability to drive change and manage global projects/initiatives.
  • Ability to recommend or make key project decisions to management.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written).
  • Strong knowledge of business disciplines (supply chain management, supply network planning, demand planning, logistics, etc.).
  • Dedicated to meeting project/initiative objectives and willing to put in extra effort when required to ensure quality and timely deliverables.
  • Ability to travel internationally.

Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 5 years of Logistics experience in International Transportation and a BS/BA degree or 3-5 years experience with an MBA. Expert user skills in MS Excel and Project Management software. Knowledge of JDE.

Product Development

Griffin Technology has several career opportunities on our Product Development team in Nashville, Tennessee. We’re looking for folks who enjoy the challenge of creating clever gadgets in a very fast paced environment. Positions for individuals with experience in consumer electronics product development and degrees in engineering, manufacturing, marketing, business or related fields are encouraged to email a resume to careers@griffintechnology.com

Qualified candidates should:
  • have experience in consumer product development or a strong engineering, business, or manufacturing background;
  • be naturally interested in all products sold at Best Buy stores; and
  • have a favorite between Engadget and Gizmodo or be able to prove they religiously read both.

While specific job titles don't necessarily exist, two examples are:

Product Development Engineer: development and coordination of specifications and manufacturing documentation, management of design and manufacturing schedules, direct engineers and designers, communicate with outside development teams; create documentation for manufacturing, coordinate with factories, and manufacturing ramp up. (Expect travel to sunny South China once per quarter.)

Product Line Manager: analyze market data and trends, draft product line roadmaps, manage new product introductions, coordinate sales/launch with Sales & Marketing, participate in Sales presentations to Buyers (Expect travel to meet with retail buyers many times per year.)

Category Manager for Consumer Electronics

You'll work within the Product Development team to guide designers and project managers in the creation of electronic accessories that delight users and enhance the Griffin brand worldwide.

Job responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Ongoing immersion in research of the consumer electronics accessories market
  • Identifying and evaluating new market opportunities.
  • Frequent travel to meet with retail buyers at line reviews and trade shows.
  • Communicating with internal project managers, senior management and sales personnel about project proposals, roadmaps, timelines, and expectations
  • Occasional travel internationally to work with vendors and oversee the manufacturing of the products as well as to further development relationship with both factories and Griffin’s Asian personnel

Category Managers are responsible for communication with all areas of the company outside of Product Development. Duties include coordination with Sales regarding delivery dates for products in their area according to retail customer needs. They work with the Marketing and Merchandising department to develop packaging and manuals, sales support materials such as Features and Benefits (FAB) sheets, and generally must be able to tell the story behind the product.

The position requires a breadth and depth of understanding of the retail space under their command. CMs must understand the competitive landscape, who the competition is, where the product line has room for growth, and when products are ready to be refreshed or go end of life (EOL).

Sales Positions

Sales Analyst / Forecaster

You'll prepare and analyze reports on historical and future trends to determine appropriate sales forecasts. You're responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and analyzing sales budgets, daily and weekly sales forecasts and more for use across many different business units for planning purposes. We want it to rain. You're the weatherman.

Production & Packaging Artist

You'll be part of the team that creates and maintains the Look of Griffin Technology. You'll design packaging that will be seen in big-box and specialty retailers across the U.S. and around the world. You will report directly to the the Packaging Director. You're fluent in Adobe Illustrator with a portfolio of recent work. You're more than a little concerned with consistency as an expression of graphic identity. You think in icons.

You are:

  • Detail & process-oriented with high-level organizational skills.
  • Analytical and a creative team player who can follow established design guidelines and templates,
  • Able to multi-task and move among several projects simultaneously.
  • Also needed to assist in the update and creation of private label packaging and marketing materials in fast paced, highly competitive retail category.

Qualifications:

  • Computer proficiency including Adobe Illustrator
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Effective communicator (verbal and written)
  • Cultivated understanding of fashion, colors and trends
  • BS Degree in Fine & Applied Arts; Graphic Design; Communication Arts or equivalent
  • At least two years experience in a similar role.
Analog Hardware Engineer

Responsibilities: The Analog Hardware Engineer will be responsible performing detailed analysis, simulation, design, prototyping, and troubleshooting for various analog and RF circuits used in consumer MP3 player accessories. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide proof of concept experiments for new product ideas
  • Participate in design reviews from electrical, mechanical and software disciplines
  • Provide product solutions while giving consideration to form, fit, function, manufacturing, product marketing and cost
  • Ensures that products meets all applicable international and domestic standards, such as EMC and safety requirements
  • Participate in multidisciplinary product designs including Analog, Digital, RF, Audio, and Power supply design

Skills Required: The position requires an in-depth knowledge of analog and RF engineering concepts. A qualified candidate is highly motivated, a fast learner, and has experience in the following areas:

  • RF theory as it applies to antennae design, RF filters, and matching networks
  • Transmission line theory including Smith Charts and S-parameters
  • Bench equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators
  • The ability to communicate and collaborate with other engineers in software and mechanical disciplines is essential
  • Knowledge of wireless technologies such as GSM, ISM, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi a plus
  • Experience specifying and managing board layout
  • Tools: PSPICE, Altium Designer 6, Electromagnetic simulation software a plus

Education and Experience: Qualified candidates should have a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering – MS preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years electronics design experience and strong fundamentals in RF design. Only applicants legally authorized to work in the US may apply for this position.
